Toodledo - To Do List

Toodledo - To Do List

Description

Toodledo is a powerful productivity tool for organizing your to-do lists and notes, tracking your habits and making outlines and lists.

Toodledo works with Apple Watch! View, add and complete tasks on your wrist.

Toodledo is flexible enough to work with many different productivity styles. You can use the popular GTD methodology, or you can use your own system. You can keep things simple, or you can add as much complexity as you need. Keeping track of your to do list has never been easier.

Macworld rated Toodledo 4½ stars saying, "...the most impressive element of Toodledo; somehow, it doesn’t feel like “settings overload”—I feel fully empowered to customize the app to match exactly my desired workflow."

With Toodledo you can:

◆ Track the priority, start date, due date, time, length or status of a task.

◆ Assign the task to a folder, context or goal.

◆ Flag the task with a visual star or tag it with keywords and notes.

◆ Get audible popup alarms.

◆ Create tasks that repeat on a schedule of your choosing.

◆ Start and stop timers to keep track of time spent on projects.

◆ View your tasks on a map and get proximity alerts when you are near a location where you have things to do.

◆ Search, filter, sort and drill down into your tasks in a variety of ways to see the subset of tasks that are useful right now and ensure that important tasks float to the top.

◆ Quickly find important tasks with the "Hotlist". This smart to do list is automatically filled with important tasks based on a mathematical formula.

◆ Protect your tasks with a passcode.

◆ Securely sync with Toodledo to backup your data and sync between devices.

◆ Imports from Reminders, allowing you to add tasks with your voice.

◆ Share your accomplishments with built in Twitter and Facebook support.

◆ Organize and permanently store your longer free-form notes in the Notebook section.

◆ Make hierarchical outlines to organize your ideas in the Outlines section.

◆ Make customizable lists for any purpose with the Lists section.

◆ Make good habits and break bad habits. Track your progress with our Habits section.

Works on all iOS devices. Some features are only available on certain devices and OS versions. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

The best for GTD, much better than Omnifocus and Appigo ToDo for PC users

:
Executive Summary: Great GTD functionality. Now has filtering by context and tags, locations and passcode so it clearly earns 5 Stars. A PC user now has no reason to settle for Omnifocus (20 bucks and no PC sync) or Appigo ToDo (nice, but wrong functions), nor drop $13 on bug-prone Pocket Informant (which I did, and deleted). Toodledo's $4 price tag makes it a no brainer.

Strengths:

o Web-based so, unlike Omnifocus, PC users don't have to enter everything with their thumbs.
o Syncs smoothly to Toodledo.com, easy to set up, works every time.
o Allows lots of ways to view data, by context, due date, status.
o GTD is executed by context. this is the ONLY iPhone app that supports the INCREDIBLY POWERFUL ability to filter by context and tags. That means I don't have to choose between viewing all tasks or just one context. I can compose a view of, say, @office, @phone and @computer sorted by due date, since all these contexts are available at my office. Then, at home, switch off @office and turn on @home, and I have a list consisting just of stuff I can do at home.
o Each task can be assigned one of several statuses that correspond well to GTD (next action, delegated, someday) as well as a few that don't (hold, canceled, active) but which could still be used.
o Default field settings allow for quick entry of incoming "stuff". You can, say, automatically designate new items as next actions, with a given context, due date, etc.)
o Lots of configuration options.
o Free account at Toodledo.com is quite robust.
o Toodledo issues frequent updates, adding new features.

Weaknesses:
o Is not exclusively a GTD app, have to ignore things like priorities.
o Would like a way to designate subtasks as next actions (i.e. make a task the parent of a sequential project), where only the the next action could be seen in contexts instead of all subtasks.
o App needs a saved search feature, like the website.

You need to upgrade from a free to a Pro subscription ($15/yr) on the website to get subtasks (but they can't include it all for free), but the app =does= support subtasks. A lot can be done with just the free account.

Conclusion: Great GTD engine. I run my life through filtered tasks on Toodledo.

Best To Do App

:
With frequent updates, this app just keeps getting better and better. I use Toodledo (web and app) all day long for my work and personal tasks, and I love it's ease of use and ability to customize. I have no desire to synch with Outlook--the web based product is lightyears better. Thanks, Toodledo!

With another excellent upgrade, still the best gtd to do app. Thanks Toodledo!

Now with in-app notebooks! The best keeps getting better and better!

The new calendar for picking due and start dates is a big improvement, and searching in the Notebooks is a great feature. Thanks!!!

@@@@@@

Wow, yet another upgrade. The new ability to get local notifications is a big improvement. Thanks!!

Update 2.1.3 has fixed all speed problems and the app is working great once again. New audible reminders when nearby locations with tasks is great. Thanks again!

Good but missing some basic features

:
I like the cleanses and simplicity of this, but it misses 3 basic things.
1. The ability to import tasks such as from a line separated text file or pasted text from an email
2. automatically setting the folder based on previously entered tasks. If I'm entering a bunch of tasks, the odds they're all going to be in the same folder, right now I have the manually set the folder for each one every time. Ideally I want to enter a task, hit return and enter the next one without pause.
3. Applying settings to multiple tasks at once
